handmade cards: valentine's day

this week, i received snail mail from a close friend in nyc J

This year's card: "Wishing you a happy Valentine's day, and I'm not lion!"

Last year's card: "You're my cup of tea~"

Sidenote: Check out my cups of tea from this past Christmas: a personalized emery pincushion from Dotty Ral and a mug from Urban Outfitters.

Since I digressed onto the topic of tea, just wanted to share this adorable find on Etsy. By baileydoesntbark.

Anyways, these Girl Scout cookies say it best... Thank U Berry Much for the card!

pennant necklace

i made a necklace last week and thought i would share!  the last time i remember making a beaded wire necklace and using crimp beads was in junior high, so i thought it might take me awhile to complete this project.  from start to end, this only took me 15 minutes and was super easy!

i'm a new fan of DIY necklaces.  this necklace, which was inspired by pennants, is my first real piece of "red" jewelry and marks my first time using chain in necklace-making.  for those of you plagued with sensitive skin like me, sterling silver chain is my new best friend.

there will definitely be more necklace projects to come.  cheers to my first generation of necklaces!

Pennant necklace

I wore my necklace when we accompanied my friend to David's Bridal.  These hairclips are definitely going in the ideabook for future projects!

I know you can't really tell in this picture, but the pennant necklace adds color to an otherwise gray outfit.  This picture was taken on a visit to Belden Place, SF.

Look at these pennants!  I saw these during a walkaround of my neighborhood.

luminiscing: random photos

after some deliberation, i clicked the Purchase button and my order for a Panasonic Lumix was complete.  having been a loyal Canon point and shoot user for many years, i hesitated to go with a new brand, but i've been a happy Panasonnie so far.  i thought i'd share some click happy moments.

My roommate's new Lumix.  Maybe one day I'll upgrade to one of these point-and-shoots.

On my way to the Little Chihuahua restaurant, I ran into this little puppy.  It had one blue and one brown eye.  Stinking cute.
